challenging beauty and one's identity
This project is related to my earlier work, "Kopfkino," in which I looked into the idea of identity and how it is affected by our surroundings. With the "Junk Queen" project, I aimed to broaden my investigation into identity by examining how our emotional connections to objects may affect how we perceive ourselves.
I wanted to show the potential beauty and value in things that are frequently considered to be worthless or disposable, so I gathered discarded items and then sketched until I came up with a way of repurposing them to make a useful object. Although it was made from materials that were discarded and regarded as worthless, the throne itself served as a symbol of power and authority.
